A standardised form of professional psycho-social services for all without the barriers of stigma, discrimination, socioeconomic status, place of residence, mental health or physical health condition within a specific period.
The Psychosocial Approach
Human beings have their own self and the social environment they live in. The constant interaction between the self and this environment creates the wonderful outcome called life experiences. While some life experiences are enjoyable, others can be challenging to cope with.
When dealing with these challenges, it is impossible to escape the influence of social factors on one's mind and behavior, and vice versa. A problem in one could destabilize the other causing various problems to the individual, his family and the society.
Understanding this idea, known as the psychosocial theory, helps us realize the importance of psychosocial interventions to help individuals through difficult life experiences focusing on both the internal mechanism of an individual and their external environment.
Our Story
Spectrum is a visionary mental health organization, born in 2023 from the passion and expertise of dedicated mental health professionals with a singular goal to combat disparities within the field of mental health service delivery.
Our founder Mr. Varunesh V, a professionally qualified Psychiatric Social Worker and a visionary social entrepreneur conceived the concept of a comprehensive hub for all psychosocial services. His vision to create a secure haven where anyone, from any background, could access and champion mental health services led to the birth of Spectrum, an initiative dedicated to transformative psychosocial interventions. Joined by other co-founders who share this profound mission, we are working together to turn this vision into reality. We have registered our organisation on 27/12/2023 under Travancore - Cochin societies registration act, 1955 Section 12 ; ALP/TC/559/2023. Spectrum has inaugurated its office and own Mental health Clinic by Mr John V Samuel District Collector, Alappuzha on 21st January 2024.
Spectrum's mission extends to individuals and communities facing mental health challenges, transcending barriers of identity, economic status, and geographical location.
By elevating mental health beyond mere curative aims, spectrum aspires to combat the stigma surrounding mental health treatments. We position mental health as an integral part of life, not just a curative measure but a way to thrive.
